Pressurized Glycol System

In this active, closed loop system, water goes to the storage tank but never to the collectors. A intermountainmixture of water and glycol is circulated from the collectors to a heat exchange inside the storage tank, where the potable water is heated.

These systems require an expansion tank and a few other components, but they work in freezing climates where other systems won’t. A pressurized system also allows for more options on where the collectors can be installed.
