The federal residential solar tax credit ended in December 2025. Intermountain Wind & Solar now offers a prepaid lease structure that delivers an instant 15–30% discount on your system, replacing the credit you would have claimed on your taxes. No tax liability needed, no waiting for refunds.
The 30% federal commercial solar Investment Tax Credit (ITC) is still available — but only for projects that begin construction by July 4, 2026, under the 2025 “One Big Beautiful Bill.” After that date, the credit window narrows significantly. Read the full breakdown on our pillar post →
Idaho offers a state-level deduction that lets residents deduct up to 40% of solar installation costs from personal income taxes in the first year, then 20% per year for the next three years. Maximum deduction is $5,000 per year or $20,000 total.
For full eligibility details, see idaho.statesolar.org.
If your home is served by Rocky Mountain Power (eastern Idaho), eligible battery systems can receive $400 per kilowatt of battery capacity paid upfront, then $15 per kilowatt annually. Idaho Power customers should ask us about other applicable programs.

Our work starts with an in-person site survey and custom proposal. We evaluate the energy needs of your property and its roofline. Then we come up with a proposal that includes system layout, installation costs, energy savings, performance estimates, project timelines and financing options. We want you to understand all these crucial details before we give the green light to create a contract and design your panel system.

As a leading solar energy company in Idaho, we’ve worked with many properties that have different rooflines across the state. Trust our team to design a panel system that suits the design of your roofline and meets your property’s energy needs. We also make sure your system design complies with the local zoning restrictions and other building regulations.

Our prepaid lease structure replaces the now-expired residential tax credit with an instant 15–30% discount applied at signing. You pay your portion once at the beginning — no monthly payments, no PPA price escalators, no tax-liability requirement. Idaho residents can stack the prepaid lease with the state's Residential Alternative Energy Tax Deduction (up to $5,000/year deduction).
Commercial financing combines the 30% federal ITC (through July 4, 2026), MACRS depreciation, and applicable utility rebates to reduce effective project cost by 50%+ when stacked. Talk to us about how the structure applies to your specific Idaho location and utility territory.

Solar systems need both monitoring and hands-on maintenance to perform at full output for 25–30 years. We offer four monitoring tiers — Basic (free), Standard ($9/mo), Premium ($19/mo), and Commercial (custom) — so you only pay for the level of oversight you actually need. Whether you’re a homeowner who wants weekly summaries or a portfolio owner who needs SLA-grade alerting, the choice is yours. See monitoring plans →

Intermountain Wind & Solar builds systems to last 25–30 years, and our in-house service team stays with you for the life of the system — same techs, same phone number, same office in Centerville since 2008. If something needs attention, your monitoring tier determines how quickly we know about it; our service team handles the dispatch from there. Talk to customer service →
